Virgie Scalf Warren, 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Knox County
passed away Sunday, March 7, 1999 in the Franciscan Hospital in Mount
Airy, Ohio.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel (Saul) Scalf and Ellen Jackson
Scalf born to them on December 4, 1915 at Ogle, Kentucky. She was the
wife of the late Nealy Warren.
She was a member of the Artemus Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Warren and wife Shirley of Cincinnati,
Ohio, Amos Warren of Lexington; three sisters, Margaret Tye, Audrey
Epperson and Rita McQueen, all of London; four brothers, Amos Scalf of
Corbin, Dewey Scalf, Joe Frank Scalf and Raymond Scalf, all of London;
six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Hopper Funeral Home on
Wednesday, March 10 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. James Vandy officiating.
Burial followed in the Warren Cemetery at Himyar.
Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
