Jonesborough man killed in wreck

A Jonesborough man was killed Monday [27 May 1985] when he lost control of the car he was driving on New Victory Road.
Randy Lee Scalf, 20, Rt. 3, Box 105, died after being thrown from his car, according to Trooper Robert Marlow, Tennessee Highway Patrol.
His mother, Marie Scalf, 45, 3211 Mayfield Drive, Johnson City, a passenger in the car, was injured in the incident, Marlowe said. She was treated for back injuries at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital and released.
Scalf's car was traveling west on New Victory Road when he lost control while rounding a curve, the trooper said. The car ran off an embankment on the left side of the road and overturned, Marlowe said.
The accident occurred at 4:30 p.m.
