Known:
Martha "E" Scalph married W. J. Russell on 10 Jan 1890. It states her birth was about 1872. We know this is her because it givew her parents names as Alfred Scalph and Mary Wright. [Transcription record reads "Scolph" but it clearly spells it "Scalph"
Additionally, it states W. J. Russell was born in Pennsylvania about 1943 to John S. Russell and E. J. Robison.
W. J. Russell had been married previously to Sarah Jane Hopkins. They appears on the 1880 Census with two children: Charles (10) and Jennie (3/12 - Feb). Sarah died on November 4, 1887, and W. J. then married Martha on January 10, 1890.
The 1900 Census only shows William J. Russell, listed as a widower,, and his daughter, Blanche (Irene) Russell (13).
Oral family history had Martha marrying Russell DeHaven, moving to California to be in motion pictures, and dying in the California Earthquake of 1906. I have been unable to find any records that substantiate this claim. I searched the California Death Records and can find no name simliarities to Scalph or DeHaven that match either of these people. Martha Ann Scalph lived Marital Status: Single; Relation to Head of House: Daughter in Jackson, Gentry, Missouri, USA, in 1880.
